Classrooms at Thomas Fleming Elementary have their own unique and interesting style. Ms. Alissa, a 4th and 5th-grade guidance counselor, incorporates a theme of positivity into her classroom. She said if she hadn’t chosen positivity, she would have included themes of inclusion and acceptance.
“I chose most of the decorations because I had them in my office at my previous school,” Ms. Alissa said. “I wanted to continue the same vibe.”
When you walk into Ms. Alissa’s room, you’re greeted with a small table for lunch bunches surrounded by a couch and cozy chairs. In front of the couch, there are pillows on the ground with toys and fidgets on a shelf.

“My favorite thing in my classroom is the calm corner,” said Ms. Alissa. “I like my classroom because it is big and organized into different sections.”
Many Fleming students enjoy Ms. Alissa’s classroom, especially the candy and cozy chairs.
One student, Feehan Cate, said, “I love how Ms. Alissa is nice, fun, and will let us play games and give us candy.”
Another student, Isaak Chhetri, said, “I like the flat TV, I also like the candy.”
