Nurse Molly has been the nurse at Thomas Fleming for three years. She works in the nurse’s office, which is located in the main office.
Nurse Molly’s day begins when she arrives at school at 7:10 am. Her first tasks are to make sure everything is clean and organized so she can easily find things, then log into SNAP (where she writes her nurse notes), and check her email to get ready to help the kids at Thomas Fleming.
In the middle of the day, she helps with many different problems: chapped lips, skin issues, big cuts, lost and wiggly teeth, sick kids, and adults.
Nurse Molly also helps by delivering items to students and teachers, from forgotten lunch boxes to coffee. She even returns lost things like sweatshirts, shoes, and water bottles.
Nurse Molly is not only available to students, but also to help the adults at Fleming.
Mrs. Lee is a fifth-grade teacher at Fleming, and Nurse Molly recently helped her.“I went to see her because I wanted to clean my glasses. Mrs. Lee also shared that she visits Nurse Molly when she has a headache and needs some Ibuprofen.
In the afternoon, Nurse Molly prepares for the next day by checking her notes, cleaning used ice packs, wiping down the beds, and restocking medicine for students. She does this to prevent germs from spreading and prepare for the next day. Her school day ends around 3:00 pm.
Nurse Molly enjoys her job and has always wanted to be a school nurse. She has a recording of her talking when she was five years old about how she really wanted to be a school nurse.
She also really enjoys working with her sister, Kelly McClintock
Nurse Molly said, “The best thing about being the school nurse is when your sis is the PE teacher.”
Nurse Molly is a very important part of the Thomas Fleming School Community. She helps anyone who comes to her office, and Thomas Fleming School would not be the same without her.
