Wicked fans from all over the world geared up for the release of the final half of the movie adaptation of the musical – Wicked: For Good.
Wicked, an original Broadway musical is based off of the book, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. Now the musical adaptation of the book has become a movie musical adaptation. Wicked became the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation surpassing $634 million in global ticket sales by late 2024.
Many fans enjoyed the movie and were excited for the continuation of Elphaba and Glinda’s story. Many people thought that the costume designs were better than Wicked and were impressed by how smooth the CGI and set were combined seamlessly adding to the magic of the movie.
“The makeup was amazing!” Freshman Noelle Ianni said.
Fans also enjoyed hearing the new songs and powerful vocals.
Freshman Adison Howatt really enjoyed the soundtrack.
“I loved No Good Deed,” Howatt said.“It was perfect.”
Even though there were many enjoyable aspects of the movie, it still had its negatives. One thing students struggled with was the length of the movie – 2 hours and 18 minutes.
“When I entered the theater the sun was still out, and by the time I left it was fully dark out,” freshman Isabel Chase said.
Even though some believed it was not as good as part one of Wicked, Wicked: For Good has something all to enjoy.
