Alicia Russotti is the new full-time art teacher here at EHS. However, she is no stranger to the school.
“I have taught here before,” Russotti said. “I did lots of substitute teaching, which is where most of my experience has come from. I actually taught jewelry here [EHS] for a year, and then previously I had been at Lamoille.”
Russotti chose to be a teacher because of her love of kids, as well as her love for the arts. Her positive experience in high school was the beginning of this dream.
“I had a very positive high school experience, specifically in the art room,” Russotti said. “I was artsy…and enjoyed babysitting, so it’s been great to combine the two.”
She has worked here for a month so far, and the AP class has been her favorite part.
“I get to see students who are very passionate about what they do,” she said. “It is fun because we get to connect over art.”
As for her future at EHS, she is super excited to get to know the kids she is teaching as well as see passionate individuals progress over the years.
Finally, Russotti has a word of advice for students in her classes.
“It can be a fun class, but you do need to put work in to do well. But just have fun, be creative and don’t be afraid to take risks!”
