Vermont’s unique soft serve, known in the Green Mountains as ‘creemees’, is one of the community’s favorite summertime desserts. With the season on the way, there’s deliciousness everywhere, and all is worth a try.
Judi’s is a new ice cream shop that opened in Williston, Vermont, open from 11 am to 9 pm daily, and approximately a 10-minute drive from Essex High School. The shop is right off the Williston Bike Path, has outdoor seating, and displays a large number of ice cream types and flavors. They serve creemees, hard ice cream, sundaes, twisties, and Judi’s treats. After asking a worker, we discovered that the most popular flavors are fluffernutter and Biscoff twisties, which both have a vanilla creemee base. However, each is complemented with its own respective and delicious toppings!
Palmer Lane Maple, better known to the community as Palmer’s, is famous for its maple creemees. They are the most popular treat at the shop, yet they have more to offer than just ice cream. Palmer’s offers fewer flavors than Judi’s yet sells all sorts of maple treats, from cookies to candies. Open 11:30 am to 7:30 pm, only 13 minutes away from Essex High School, and with online ordering available, Palmer’s proves to be a good stop for maple cravings. 
The Village Scoop, located off Main Street, is the perfect quick-stop ice cream shop. It has a drive-through, where many customers can enjoy their sweet treats in the air conditioning of their cars. Located 10 minutes from Essex High School, the Village Scoop advertises its most popular flavor, Maine Black Bear. Maine Black Bear consists of vanilla creemee with raspberry and chocolate cups filled with raspberries. From 11:30 am to 8:30 pm, enjoy the variety of flavors and shaded seats.
Sweet Scoops on Essex’s Center Rd, a 6-minute drive from Essex High School. Sweet Scoops has a true Vermont feel as seating is located inside the barn and sports the cow mascot. Their most popular creemees can be found in the “Build Your Own Brownie Sundaes”. Sweet Scoop’s build-your-own opportunity means you can pick your creemee, toppings, topped with brownie. Stop by from 3:30 pm to 8 pm on weekdays and from 12 pm to 8 pm on weekends.
