To our loyal readers,
First, thank you for your continued support of student journalism. Now more than ever, maintaining transparency and getting the facts right are essential. The Hive Staff strives to uphold these principles by delivering accurate, unbiased, and timely information to our school and broader community. We are committed to growing student journalism, and we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you.
With the 2025-26 school year well underway, The Hive newsroom is filled with the most student journalists and photojournalists in its history. As a four-year member, I am personally thrilled to see so much enthusiasm from this year’s reporters. Now, we have some exciting news to share.
The Hive is partnering with The Honey Hive—a group of 5th graders from Fleming Elementary School who are passionate about storytelling. We are excited to meet and collaborate with these young journalists and look forward to sharing our first joint publication soon.
Additionally, The Essex Reporter has graciously given The Hive a section in their paper. This is a huge opportunity for our student voices to reach an even wider audience, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.
As we continue this exciting year, we invite you to stay connected, engaged, and curious. Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or community member, your readership fuels our mission and motivates us to keep telling the stories that matter. Here’s to another year of growth, collaboration, and impactful journalism.
With gratitude,
Sam Houghton
